Studley Grange Butterfly World

Hay Lane, Wroughton, Swindon, Wiltshire SN4 9QT

At Studley Grange Butterfly World, one of the largest butterfly centres in Britain, you can walk among some of the most beautiful butterflies in the world. The two hot houses, filled with around 200 varieties of tropical plants, are home to around 30 species of butterflies. Admire the steams, rustic bridges, waterfalls and fishponds stocked with koi carp, and have fun searching for caterpillars and chrysalis hidden among the leaves. You may even be lucky enough to see a butterfly emerging from its pupae.

But Studley Grange Butterfly World could almost be renamed; there’s so much more than butterflies to see. Enter the mini-beast room where you will come face to face with a tarantula, scorpion and many other exotic insects. Find George the giant tortoise on one of his daily walks and marvel at the iguanas. Visit the animal paddocks and meet goats, otters, meerkats, pigs, guinea pigs, rabbits, birds and much more.

A commercial mixed livestock farm is adjacent to Butterfly World. The farm produces free range foodstuffs for sale and helps educate the public on animal welfare and the food chain. Visitors to Butterfly World can visit the farm and see its cows, sheep, goats and other animals at no extra cost.
