South Stack Lighthouse

Holyhead, Anglesey LL65 1YH
South Stack Bridge South Stack Wales LL65 1YH GB

Climb up 365 steep spiral steps to the top of this spectacular 27-metre lighthouse. Admire the spectacular sea view and imagine how many ships had been warned of the dangerous rocks below. You can also see the house where the lighthouse keepers lived up to 1984 before the lighthouse became automated.

This well preserved lighthouse built on a small island off the north-west coast of Holy Island in 1809 is a great place to visit if you are in the area, even if you don’t fancy climbing up to the top. But remember to purchase your tickets before coming down all the steps!
