This wonderful house where Shakespeare was born has been welcoming visitors for over 250 years. This famous writer’s birthplace is a fascinating house that offers a glimpse into Shakespeare’s early life where he grew up, played and ate meals in the hall. He also spent the first five years of married life in the house with his wife, Anne Hathaway.

Discover the world where he slept and dreamt which is likely to have shaped the man into becoming one of the finest writers of his time. You will also learn what other famous writers such as Charles Dickens, John Keats, Walter Scott and Thomas Hardy thought when they visited the house.

As you walk around this shrine you will see his plays brought to life by a troupe of professional actors dressed in costumes of that era. You could even join in with the actors and request an excerpt from your favourite play. You will certainly be entertained here.

It is such a special place that it is definitely worth a visit.
