Learn about the ‘upstairs and downstairs’ of this charming historic house, decorated and furnished in exquisite Edwardian style.

Walk into the elegant Entrance Hall and imagine a butler leading you into a large open-fire room with a mahogany revolving bookcase and a gilt-bronze and copper chandelier, then imagine sitting down on luxurious furniture waiting for the family to greet you…

Wander around the Cleves Room, the Dining Room, the Drawing Rooms, the Bedrooms and be intrigued with the stories each room tells about the Stanford family who used to own the house.

Visit the Servant’s Quarters and see what life was like for the cooks, butlers and maids who worked hard in the house. You will also learn how the butler ironed the newspaper every day and you will even see an ice-cream maker.

This elegant home makes an interesting visit for the whole of the family.
