Stone Edge Cupola
The chimney is one of the oldest free standing chimneys in the UK being build in 1771 and is situated at Stonedge. The Cupola furnace smelted galena from mines at Ashover, Wirksworth, Bonsall, Matlock and Cromford. There is a footpath which runs across the site from the corner of Belland Lane which is off the Chesterfield/Matlock Road at Spitewinter.
