Visit one of England’s finest coastal defences, built in the 18th century and modified in the 19th century. Walk through the entrance defended by a drawbridge and take a journey into the past as you go on a guided or audio tour.
Learn about the invasion of England in 1667 and about the Royal Marines first land battle. Walk around a maze of rooms and dark narrow passages and get a feel of the place and its history.
You’ll also see large guns, a World War II operation’s room, many uniforms, and you’ll witness views from the case mate’s access balcony and much more.
There is so much to see and learn here, the whole family is guaranteed a fantastic day out.
