Ingleborough Cave, first entered and made accessible in 1837, is the premier show cave in the Yorkshire Dales.
In 2012, it celebrated 175 years of entrancing visitors with an awe inspiring range of stunning cave formations, the imposing cave entrance and the large passages are full of artefacts dating back millions of years along with the evidence of the significant impact of the Ice Ages.

Facilities: Wheelchairs can go down the Cave (They are the only showcave in Britain that you can fit a wheelchair through) but the user must first negotiate the mile and a quarter gravel track to get to Ingleborough Cave.
They have a small shop that sells confectionary, hot and cold drinks and ice cream during the season. Toilets are for people visiting the Cave ONLY, dogs are more than welcome on a lead and you park in the village of Clapham and walk up to the Cave.
Opening Times: 7 days a week from the start of February half term until the end of October half term. In between, they are open at weekends, with the 3 weekends prior to Christmas being run as a Santa’s Grotto. They can send you a poster for this if you would like as it is a very popular event.
