Hove Museum & Art Gallery
Step into a world of toys, cinema, local history and fine art at this family-friendly museum.
Visit the Wizard’s Attic where a friendly wizard repairs old broken toys with the help of his team of mice! In the wizard’s room you will also witness a treasure trove of toys dating back from as early as 1740 to modern day. See dolls from the 1600s, clockwork toys from Germany, Star War characters, toy soldiers, teddy bears, mechanical toys and educational toys, and much more.
Visit two interactive galleries and discover how film evolved from early photography and optical toys. See a collection of magic lanterns, early still cameras, local cinema ticket booths and seating, and a series of screens showing films made by Brighton School.
There are also many temporary exhibitions on throughout the year on the ground floor for people of all ages to enjoy.
Facilities: There is parking available on site for blue badge holders free of charge. There is also a shop on site.
Opening Times: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday 10am-5pm
Sunday 2-5pm (Open Bank Holiday Mondays)
Closed Wednesdays, 24-26, 28 December & 1 January
Costs: Admission FREE, but there may be charges for some guided tours and exhibitions.
