Switch on your imagination at the Enginuity interactive design and technology centre, and have fun discovering how everyday things work. Located in the Ironbridge Gorge World Heritage Site, Shropshire, it captures the imagination of all ages using huge hands-on exhibits to bring the workings of everyday things to life.
Find out how a little ingenuity will empower you to pull a real 10 ton locomotive or generate electricity from flowing water. Then test your co-ordination against the speed and accuracy of a robotic arm, build an earthquake-proof tower and experiment with an ‘x-ray machine’ to reveal the innards of items in daily use, such as a mobile telephone.
Enginuity is also home to the ‘Scan-it’ cutting edge technology – an ingenious system that zaps an infrared beam at exhibits, which are then brought to life on a nearby screen with explanations of what they are and where they come from.
Location Details: The Gorge is easily reached via the M6 and M54 motorways exiting at Telford (M54 junction 4 or 6).
Opening Times: 7 Days a week: 10am-5pm
