Located alongside Gorton reservoirs and two golf courses means that this is a significant area of open recreational space with many pleasant walks. It is also home to a great diversity of wildlife with wooded areas managed to provide a natural habitat for birds and insects, with bird and bat boxes positioned around the area.
Recreational facilities in the park include football pitches, an event area, two bowling greens and pavilion, a multi-sports area, tennis courts, skateboarding and BMX ramps, marathon and orienteering routes, walking and cycling routes, a children’s play area, a community orchard and ornamental gardens.
Other facilities in the park include Community Meeting and Activity Rooms, Debdale Eco-Centre, Debdale Allotment Society, Gardening and Woodwork Centre for adult with special needs, Donkey Sanctuary (Elizabeth Seveston Trust) and public toilets. The nearby reservoirs provide opportunities for fishing and boating with a dedicated water sports and outdoor activity center, Debdale Outdoor Centre.
