Coldharbour Mill Museum
One of the oldest woolen mills in the UK having been in continuous production since 1797. Originally owned by world-renown textile producers Fox Brothers the Mill took fleece from all over world and transformed it into yarn, cloth and textiles. Today the rich heritage lives on as one of the finest working wool museums where visitors are able to relive the sights and sounds of the industrial revolution.
Thanks to funding from Heritage Lottery and other generous donations, Coldharbour Mill re-opened spring 2016 complete with a new visitor reception, brand new artisan shop full of handmade, local items including an array of rugs and wool produced in the Mill and Waterside Café offering tempting treats from homemade cakes, crepes and lunches.
With free parking at the Mill, why not stretch your legs along our riverside walk just across the road from the Mill. Filled with wild flowers in the spring and summer and with original features including a weir and original sluice gates, there is something for everyone.
