Bolingbroke Castle

Moat Ln, Bolingbroke Castle, Old Bolingbroke, Lincolnshire PE23 4HH
Moat Lane England PE23 GB

The remains of this 13th century hexagonal castle, which was the birthplace of the future King Henry IV, is definitely a site worth visiting. Go through the gatehouse towers which bring you into the open centre of the castle and afterwards walk around the outside of the wall by the wide moat to get an impressive view of the 18-feet-high castle walls.

There are many events held at the castle such as re-enactments and theatre shows.

There are no facilities at the castle but there is a pub nearby in the village, or the market town of Spilsby, 3 miles to the west, has a variety of shops and places to eat.
