For over 50 years this underground bunker, set in rolling Cheshire countryside, remained a secret. Declassified in 1993, the 35,000 sq ft bunker would have been the centre of regional government if a nuclear war had broken out. The bunker was built in the 1950s as part of a secret radar network code named ROTOR and was rebuilt in the 1980s for over £32 million.
As you enter through massive blast doors, you will be transported into the chilling world of the Cold War. See the government's preparations for nuclear war and step into the lives of people who worked there. See the Minister of State's office, the communication centre and much more. You can also view original broadcasts that were to be transmitted on all TV channels prior to a nuclear attack.
There have been a number of radio and television investigations including "Most Haunted" at the bunker complex. In this vast complex, the labyrinth of corridors and rooms seem to hold more secrets than just military ones. The Hack Green site has been the location of many battles and deaths for over 500 years, from the Great Fire of Nantwich, the Civil War through to two world wars and into the potential nuclear conflicts of the modern age.
Paranormal groups are welcome to explore Hack Green Secret Nuclear Bunker.
